Richemont has appointed Catherine Rénier CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, to succeed Nicolas Bos.

Rénier has more than 20 years of experience in jewelry and luxury watchmaking with the Swiss conglomerate, it said Tuesday. She joined the company in 1999 as director of retail development for Cartier in North America and later worked for Van Cleef & Arpels as a deputy manager in Paris. In 2008 Rénier moved to Hong Kong to support the maison’s growth in the Asia-Pacific region, initially as commercial director and then as managing director for Hong Kong and Macau. She became president for Asia Pacific in 2011, a position she held for eight years before moving to lead Jaeger-LeCoultre in 2018.

In her new role, which begins September 1, Rénier will report to Bos, who is taking over as CEO of Richemont.

“[Rénier] will be taking on the role…after six years at the helm of Jaeger-LeCoultre where she built a strong leadership team and a clear and differentiated positioning for the maison, which has been foundational to its success during her tenure,” said Bos. “[She] brings the perfect mix of experience and leadership skills to the role, which, coupled with her deep knowledge of the maison, will enable her to ensure Van Cleef & Arpels’s long-term success.”

Richemont has recently shaken up its executive committee. Along with new roles for Bos and Rénier, the company also announced the promotion of Louis Ferla to CEO of Cartier
