Richemont has named Louis Ferla as the new CEO of its Cartier jewelry brand, to succeed Cyrille Vigneron, who will retire.
Ferla began his career at Richemont in 2001 as an area sales manager in Hong Kong. He joined Cartier in 2006, holding various senior executive roles in the Middle East, India and Africa before becoming CEO in China, Richemont said Tuesday. In 2017, Ferla moved to Richemont watch brand Vacheron Constantin as CEO.
Vigneron will step down as CEO on September 1 after eight years but will continue as chairman of Cartier culture and philanthropy. He will work closely with Ferla to ensure a smooth handover, the company noted.
“[Ferla] has earned the admiration and respect of his colleagues across the group, and of the industry at large for having so brilliantly positioned Vacheron Constantin at the pinnacle of haute horlogerie,” said Richemont chairman Johann Rupert. “His experience and leadership qualities will prove invaluable for Cartier’s long-term success.”
