29ct. Harry Winston Diamond Ring to Add Sparkle to Bonhams Sale

Bonhams is set to offer a 29.29-carat Harry Winston diamond ring at its upcoming New York auction, which will also include a private collection of “significant” pieces from the designer. 

The marquise-cut, D-color, VVS2-clarity, type IIa ring, created around 1967, is set to fetch up to $1.9 million at the June 6 New York Jewels sale, Bonhams said last week. The auction will feature a total of 177 items, with many pieces originating from well-known design houses, including Fred, Boucheron, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels. 

Other notable items include an emerald-cut, 28.19-carat, D-color, VVS2-clarity diamond ring estimated at $1.2 million to $1.8 million. An emerald-cut, 12.21-carat, fancy-deep-brownish-pinkish-orange, VS1-clarity diamond ring will also go on the block, with a presale high estimate of $600,000. 

Meanwhile, a Harry Winston ring featuring a cushion-cut, 25.51-carat Ceylon sapphire surrounded by round brilliant-cut diamonds, created circa 1968, is expected to fetch up to $350,000. A bracelet by the designer, made around 1963, containing two large round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing 4.64 and 1.80 carats, will also be on offer. The piece carries a price tag of $180,000 to $280,000. 

“This exquisitely curated collection features not only two magnificent diamonds…but a treasured assortment of elegant jewels featuring designs by Harry Winston, Fred Paris, and Van Cleef & Arpels,” said Caroline Morrissey, director and head of jewelry for New York at Bonhams. “To have such exceptional designs and stones from the golden age of Harry Winston throughout the auction is a rare phenomenon.”
