Fura Gems will hold its seventh auction of rough Colombian emeralds later this month, showcasing the largest number of carats it has featured to date at a sale.
The event will take place over two dates at separate locations, the company said Monday. The first sale will take place in Bogota, Colombia, from November 11 to 13, while the second will run from November 21 to 25 in Bangkok, Thailand. In total, Fura will offer 132,000 carats of high-quality emeralds.
The emeralds originate from Fura’s Coscuez mine in Muzo, Colombia. The miner has been implementing advanced exploration and extraction techniques at the deposit to enhance emerald quality and production, it explained.
“These emeralds embody the heritage and quality that make Colombia emeralds so sought after worldwide,” said Fura chief marketing officer Rupak Sen. “Our auctions provide rare access to Coscuez’s finest gemstones.”
Fura will also hold a sale of Mozambican rubies from December 10 to 24, while its upcoming auction of Australian sapphires will take place from January 21 to 24.
