RAPAPORT… Christie’s is set to offer 128 Patek Philippe watches from a private collector in three sales across the globe.
The assortment, called the Kairos Collection, is the finest group of contemporary timepieces by the designer ever to come to auction, Christie’s said last week. The watches were acquired over 35 years.
The auction house will feature 30 pieces in the first part of its May 9 Geneva Magnificent Jewels sale, including a Ref. 5959R-001 Split-Seconds Chronograph and a Ref. 5074R-001 Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar. On May 24, another 30 lots will hit the auction block in Hong Kong, and the remaining 68 timepieces will go under the hammer on June 8 at the New York Magnificent Jewels sale.
Prior to the auctions, Christie’s will display the collection in London, New York, Geneva, Dubai, Hong Kong and San Francisco.
