RAPAPORT… Hearts on Fire and lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret teamed up to create the Diamond Fantasy Bra, the ultimate holiday gift that is “sure to set hearts afire.” This one-of-a-kind bra showcases 800 carats of Hearts on Fire ideal cut diamonds. The centerpiece of this luxury lingerie piece is a 10-carat Victorian-style floral diamond brooch. For those who want to make a really big impression for the holidays, the Diamond Fantasy Bra retails for $6,500,000.
The creations of Italian jewelry designer Roberto Coin are showcased in the November issue of Architectural Digest. His jewelry adorns four of today’s most influential interior designers, who are featured in a four-page special section of the magazine. The interior designers — Charlotte Moss, Victoria Hagan, Kelly Hoppen and Alexa Hampton — wear jewelry from four different Roberto Coin collections, each chosen for the synchronicity between the jewelry designer’s and the interior designers’ aesthetic sensibility.
Celebrating 30 years as a jewelry designer, London-based Stephen Webster presented his One of a Kind collection at the Wallace Collection in London. Webster looked into his archives and selected 30 limited-edition designs from his past and present that are representative of the evolution of his work over the years. Legendary rocker Bryan Ferry performed at the event, which was attended by Christina Aguilera, Cheryl Tweedy, Sophie Anderton, Victoria Hervey, Julien MacDonald and Jimmy Choo. The collection highlights a tiara sponsored by Dali Diamond Co. with 9.86 carats of diamonds featuring Webster’s signature thorn and tattoo design and worn at the gala by Aguilera.
The collection will travel around the world to trade shows, in-store events and special occasions for the next 12 months. Additionally, Dali Diamond Co. will be working with Stephen Webster as he debuts his new luxury diamond watches.
The Chad Allison collection has moved its offices to New York City. Formerly from Scottsdale, Arizona, the jewelry house, known for its diamond pavé, has moved its operations to the Big Apple in order to be closer to the heart of the fashion community. The new office is located at 576 Fifth Avenue, 9th floor.
Pearl purveyors Tara & Sons dares you to “Be Tahitian” as part of its 2006 ad campaign. The ads feature Tahitian natives wearing Tara & Sons designs in various locales on the exotic island. The campaign, entitled “Dare to be Tahitian,” was created by Renee Sethi-Moondra, vice president and creative director for the firm. The ads launch in the December issues of Harper’s Bazaar and InStyle magazines. There will also be television ads in local markets through co-op campaigns with Ben Bridge, Borsheims, Carlyle, Lee Michaels and Lux Bond and Green.
