The Plumb Club and the Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC) have partnered to promote education, ethical business practices and compliance across the jewelry trade.

The alliance will contribute to both organizations’ efforts, the Plumb Club said Monday. Through each of their programs and resources, the groups will work to support jewelry companies and professionals with knowledge and skills to navigate an increasingly challenging business and regulatory environment. The collaboration will also provide new opportunities for the organizations to share resources and bolster industry engagement, it added.

The initiative expands The Plumb Club’s role in the jewelry industry, including through participation in the JVC’s government advocacy efforts with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other regulatory agencies.

“Both our organizations believe that a strong, informed and ethically grounded industry is essential to maintaining consumer confidence and a successful future for the trade,” said Plumb Club executive director Lawrence Hess. “Through this alliance we will continue to encourage responsible business practices, promote industry-wide education and help industry professionals.”
