Rapaport’s news team has picked up a Jesse H. Neal Award for its reporting of the Russia-Ukraine war and the conflict’s impact on the diamond industry.
The Neal Awards recognize editorial excellence in business media, rewarding journalists who expose corruption and bring new trends to readers’ awareness.
The award-winning coverage was presented under the title, “Losing Its Shine: The Alienation of a Diamond Giant.” This included a special issue of the Rapaport Research Report on diamond provenance in light of the geopolitical tensions, a webinar on US sanctions placed on Alrosa and their potential impact on the market, timely news stories and interviews, as well as a dedicated resource center with ongoing updates on Rapaport.com.
The Neal Awards, of which these are the 69th edition, are among the longest-running accolades honoring business-to-business (B2B) journalism, according to organizers at the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). The 59 awards cover 24 categories, with Rapaport winning in “Best News Coverage” for publications with brand revenue under $3 million.
