This week, three designers share what they keep on their desks, while others point to the latest trends in store design and silver jewelry. Plus: a vacation destination that could pay off.
Spectacular find
Within the first 10 minutes of their visit to the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas, a couple stumbled on what they thought was a piece of clear glass — which the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) later confirmed to be a 4.87-carat diamond. This is not the first time treasures have been found in the park, Newsweek noted.
Store trends
Planning to remodel in 2024? Instore magazine shares five jewelry-store design trends it says “make sense,” curated from its “America’s Coolest Stores” series.
Unsolved crime
Police still have no suspects in the case of Peter Damian Arguello, owner of Peter Damian Fine Jewelry & Antiques in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, who was killed inside his shop in a possible robbery three weeks ago.
Workspace secrets
Caran d’Ache pencils, iPad, rugs, jewelry boxes and white sketching paper are some of the objects jewelry designers Fernando Jorge, Lauren Harwell Godfrey, and Eva Fehren have on their desks, they shared in this feature for the Natural Diamond Council (NDC).
Heralding 2024
