Jewelers of America (JA) has elected Lawrence Bock, Caryl Capeci and Amanda Coleman-Phelps to its board of directors.
The group selected its new directors at the association’s annual general meeting (AGM) on October 26 and introduced them to the board the following day, JA said last week.
Bock is president and third-generation owner of Bachendorf’s in Dallas, Texas. He joined the Harry Bock Company, parent company of Bachendorf’s, in 1982 and has served as its president since 2000. In 2011, Bock was inducted into the National Jeweler Retailer Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, Capeci, senior vice president of fine jewelry, watches and global marketing at Starboard, has also served as president of Hearts On Fire and North American CEO of Chow Tai Fook. She has held board position at the American Gem Society (AGS) and Diamonds Do Good (DDG), and has received numerous industry honors.
Coleman-Phelps is president and CEO of Nelson Coleman Jewelers, where she brings her expertise in fine jewelry, customer relations and community engagements. She leads the company’s Chris Coleman community commitment, a monthly charitable partnership program, while working to strengthen customer relationships and further the company’s community involvement.
“We are delighted to welcome [Bock, Capeci and Coleman-Phelps] to our board of directors,” said JA CEO David Bonaparte. “Each brings valuable expertise and a unique perspective that will strengthen our leadership and support the continued growth of our organization. Our board plays a vital role in advancing our mission and ensuring we deliver meaningful value to our members through opportunities to grow, connect, advocate and lead.”
