RAPAPORT… The Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) has elected a new board of directors,
featuring a range of professionals from across the industry, the bourse said
Monday.
New members include Amit Dhamani, CEO of Dhamani Jewels;
Davy Blommaert, the diamond-and-metals chief at the National Bank of Fujairah;
and Gautam Sashittal, CEO of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). Ahmed
Bin Sulayem will continue to head the board as chairman of the DDE, having
taken over from Peter Meeus earlier this year.
“We welcome the newly [elected] board of directors to the
DDE, who will bring in fresh views and expertise to further boost our key
strategic goals, particularly around rough and polished diamond tenders, to
elevate our diamond marketplace for the benefit of Dubai and the industry
worldwide,” Bin Sulayem said.
