RAPAPORT… Technology group Synova has opened a new diamond-sawing
center in Mumbai, the company said recently.
The hub — the Swiss manufacturer’s second in India —
will provide laser-sawing services, stone analyses and machine demonstrations,
which will speed up turnaround for diamonds sent in by customers for cutting,
the company said.
“We will be able to serve our local customers better and faster
than ever before since all sawing jobs can now be done locally and stones don’t
need to be shipped back and forth between Surat and Mumbai,” said Jörg Pausch,
head of Synova’s diamond-business unit. “Customers will receive their cut
stones within one instead of several working days.”
Synova also has a cutting center in Surat.
