Signet Jewelers has hired three new executives, including former Helzberg Diamonds chief Julie Yoakum, who will oversee the company’s Kay and Peoples brands.
Yoakum, who most recently was president and chief brand merchant officer at the Warren Buffett-owned Helzberg Diamonds, will become president of the two labels, where she will lead product development, sourcing, quality assurance, distribution and digital transformation, Signet said last week. She brings a unique combination of operational rigor, entrepreneurial mindset and diamond-industry expertise to the role, the retailer commented.
Meanwhile, Stacee Johnson-Williams will serve as chief of merchandise operations, heading the central sourcing and core merchandising team. In her new position, Johnson-Williams, who was previously interim president of Kay and Peoples, will further expand cross-brand sourcing capabilities and have responsibility for the assortment of core categories to leverage scale in buying, Signet stated.
Signet has named Lisa Laich, who was head of digital and brand marketing at shoe companies Crocs and Heydude, as chief marketing officer. She will collaborate with the consumer brands to develop creative content and implement storytelling to help drive brand loyalty.
Yoakum, Johnson-Williams and Laich are “experienced and highly accomplished industry leaders who believe in Signet’s purpose of inspiring love and will accelerate our ‘Grow Brand Love’ strategy,” said Signet CEO J.K. Symancyk. “[Yoakum] brings over 30 years of experience in the jewelry and apparel industries, with a strong track record of sales growth. [Johnson-Williams’s] decade of leadership at Signet will enable her to quickly advance our core merchandising and leverage scale to drive top-line growth in key categories. [Laich’s] record of marketing excellence and commercial growth across leading retail brands complements the strengths of our team.”
