David Gotlib has resigned as president of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) just over a year after taking on the role, the organization confirmed.
The Belgian trade organization declined to give a reason for Gotlib’s departure in an email to Rapaport News on Wednesday. The process of appointing a successor will be carried out “in alignment with bylaws,” an AWDC spokesperson said.
Gotlib succeeded Chaim Pluczenik as AWDC president last year. A third-generation diamantaire, he is the founder of luxury goods and jewelry retailer IDRP Group and launched a cufflink brand that bears his name.
