Technology will play an important role in the trade this year as jewelers try out new design tools and narrative strategies, Rapaport Acting Editor Rachael Taylor stressed on the Rapaport Diamond Podcast.
The sector became more integrated with technology in 2022 on many levels, Taylor noted in a wide-ranging conversation with Rapaport Senior Analyst Avi Krawitz. For example, jewelers and designers have started experimenting with art generated by artificial intelligence (AI) to inspire their work.
The two also discussed trends from the holiday season, the industry’s investment in better storytelling, the drive to make jewelry more accessible, and several projects Taylor has been involved in, including the publication of her books about Cartier and Tiffany & Co.
