Boucheron’s Faisceaux brooch will join several other pieces from the brand in the jewelry galleries at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London.

The piece is from the Holographique 2021 Carte Blanche collection, one of two high-jewelry lines Boucheron has released each year since 2020, the luxury house said on Friday.

“This rock-crystal jewel embodies the V&A’s values of cultural heritage, innovation and artistic excellence in every respect,” commented Claire Choisne, Boucheron’s creative director. “Beyond being a piece of high jewelry, it epitomizes Boucheron’s creative vision — to push back the boundaries of craftsmanship and redefine the relationship between light and matter. I’m confident it will prove a worthy addition to the museum’s collection, as much in tune with the past as with the future of artistic expression.”

The Carte Blanche Holographique collection took inspiration from the interaction of light and color, and it features a high-temperature metallic coating that creates a holographic effect, Boucheron explained. The Faisceaux brooch suspends a diamond-set Jack motif  within hollow rock crystal, which amplifies depth and transparency, the company added. The piece is finished with holographic film so it sheds light-shifting iridescent reflections.

The Faisceaux brooch will be on display with another 12 Boucheron pieces that are already in the jewelry galleries, the company said. The pieces originate from around 1875 to the 1960s, exhibiting Boucheron’s inspirations in every era and the skill of its artisans, according to the jeweler.
