A Van Cleef & Arpels diamond ring will be on offer at an upcoming Sotheby’s sale in Paris, where it could fetch up to EUR 400,000 ($455,686).
The jewel bears a rectangular step-cut, 16.01-carat, J-color, VS2-clarity diamond. The piece will take center stage at the October 8 Fine Jewelry sale, according to the Sotheby’s website.
The auction house is offering more than 270 lots, including pieces from well-known designers such as Cartier, Boucheron and Chopard.

A ring centering an oval-shaped, 9.41-carat Burmese sapphire, in a frame of marquise-, pear- and brilliant-cut diamonds totaling an estimated 5 carats.
Another Van Cleef & Arpels ring, this one featuring a marquise-cut, 5.54-carat, D, VVS2 diamond between baguette-cut diamond shoulders.
A necklace from M. Gérard with 18 oval Burmese rubies, each in a surround containing eight brilliant-cut diamonds, with the clusters spaced by pairs of brilliant-cut stones. The piece comprises approximately 36 carats of diamonds.
A brooch designed as an articulate swag, sporting cabochon emerald drops accented with onyx. The mount features an oval emerald cabochon and is pavé-set with brilliant- and baguette-cut diamonds. The emeralds are of Zambian origin and total 172.50 carats.
