A 26.36-carat diamond set in a ring, the largest stone on offer in the UK in 10 years, could fetch up to GBP 1 million ($1.3 million) at an upcoming Elmwood’s auction.

The ring features a round brilliant-cut, I-color, VVS1-clarity, triple Ex diamond solitaire. The piece will take the spotlight at the March 17 Elmwood’s Fine Jewellery sale in London, the auction house said last week.

“This is an extraordinarily rare diamond. Its combination of size, VVS1 clarity and triple Ex cut is something you simply do not see in the UK market,” said Joe Kendrick, head of sale at Elmwood’s auctioneers. “Stones of this caliber come along perhaps once in a decade, and this solitaire is a spectacular example of what makes white diamonds so prized by collectors worldwide.”

The last time a similar-sized diamond went on the block in the UK was the 2017 sale of a 26.50-carat stone at Sotheby’s. The upcoming auction presents collectors with a rare, once-in-a-decade chance to acquire a gem combining perfection and rarity, Elmwood’s added.
