A toi et moi ring containing yellow and white diamonds headlined a recent jewelry sale at Phillips in New York, where it fetched $254,900.
The piece, which included two pear-shaped, internally flawless diamonds — one a 5.03-carat, D-color, and the other a 3.61-carat, fancy-vivid-yellow — sold within its estimated range, Phillips said Saturday. In total, 70% of lots on offer found buyers at the December 13 New York Jewels auction, which garnered a total of $2.6 million.
“The New York Jewels auction saw a great deal of participation from across the globe, leading to strong prices for important pieces spanning style and price points,” said Cristina Rodrigo, specialist and head of sale for jewelry at Phillips in New York. “Colored gemstones also produced strong results, bringing in the largest portion of the sale value — nearly half of the total sale price.”
