Sotheby’s is set to highlight two pieces featuring colored diamonds at its upcoming Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva, with each expected to bring in up to CHF 1.8 million ($2.1 million).
The first is a cut-cornered rectangular mixed-cut, 1.44-carat, fancy-red, I2-clarity diamond ring. The other is a brilliant-cut, 16.73-carat, very-light-pink, VVS1-clarity diamond pendant. Both will go on the block at the November 13 sale, Sotheby’s said last week.

The auction will also feature a collection of archeological revival jewels from the 19th century by famed makers such as Castellani, Carlo Giuliano and Wièse. Additionally, items from houses including Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Bulgari, Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, and JAR will be up for auction.

A ring with a cushion modified brilliant-cut, 31.04-carat, fancy-vivid-yellow, VVS1-clarity diamond flanked by two trapeze-shaped diamonds is expected to bring in up to CHF 1.4 million ($1.6 million). A Bulgari cushion-cut, 6.49-carat Burmese ruby ring with a pear- and marquise-cut diamond surround is going for CHF 800,000 to CHF 1.2 million ($920,331 to $1.4 million). This 12.22-carat, fancy-orangey-pink diamond ring of VVS2 clarity with triangular diamond shoulders has a high estimate of CHF 800,000 ($919,815). This ring bearing a cushion modified brilliant-cut, 40.88-carat, fancy-intense-yellow, VS2-clarity diamond is set to realize between CHF 630,000 and CHF 700,000 ($724,760 to $804,991). A Tiffany & Co. necklace with a pear-shaped, 13.05-carat, D-color, internally flawless diamond on a chain decorated with spectacle-set, brilliant-cut diamonds is on offer for as much as CHF 700,000 ($804,991). A step-cut, 10-53-carat, D-color, internally flawless, diamond ring set between tapered baguette-cut diamonds could go for as much as CHF 550,000 ($632,373). This rivière necklace comprises graduated brilliant-cut diamonds weighing a total of 85.77 carats. It carries an upper price of CHF 550,000 ($632,373). Designed by Van Cleef & Arpels, this bracelet containing a graduated line of oval- and cushion-shaped sapphires and framed by channel-set baguette and tapered baguette diamond will go on the block for CHF 320,000 to CHF 550,000 ($367,926 to $632,373)
