Titan Company has appointed its jewelry division CEO, Ajoy Chawla, as managing director, succeeding C. K. Venkataraman, who is set to retire.
Chawla joined Titan’s financial department in 1991, the company said last week. Over the following 20 years, he occupied several roles in the watch division, including commercial, sales supply chain, and leading the strategic business unit domestically and internationally. In 2019, Chawla became CEO of the jewelry division, which encompasses the Tanishq, CaratLane, Mia and Zoya brands. The segment has seen sales and profit more than double under his leadership, Titan noted. Upon his appointment, Chawla will also join the company’s board of directors.
“On behalf of the entire Titan team, I welcome [Chawla] to lead Titan in its next phase of innovation and growth,” Venkataraman said. “With his strong customer obsession, people orientation, partnering impulse and focus on creating value, [Chawla] is well qualified to shepherd Titan toward even greater glory and scale.”
Venkataraman, who became managing director in 2019, will be retiring from his position at the end of the year, and Chawla will take over on January 1, 2026.
