The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has appointed Tiffany Stevens as chief business officer and head of sustainability for its North American business. She will succeed Avi Levy.
Stevens joins the company following her departure from the role of CEO at the Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC), IGI said Monday. There, she led efforts on sustainability and transparent supply-chain practices. Stevens has experience dealing with diamond sanctions, advertising and environmental-impact issues.
In this new role, Stevens will replace Levy, who is stepping down after five years as president of IGI North America.
“IGI is renowned for its commitment to scientific and ethical integrity,” said Stevens. “This is an exciting business where technology, finesse and trust converge. I look forward to working with the outstanding IGI team to advance gemology education, promote transparency and responsibility, and uphold our core values of scientific excellence and ethical accountability.”
