Tiffany & Co. has introduced a jewelry-design award worth $50,000 as well as a yearlong fellowship with the company’s design department.
Tiffany created the prize together with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). It recognizes outstanding American designers who are committed to driving inclusivity within the industry and elevating jewelry design as its own category akin to womenswear or menswear, Tiffany said Monday.
The company will grant participants who are selected mentorship and an immersive learning experience. It will choose one of those participants to receive the Tiffany & Co. x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award. Tiffany Atrium, the jeweler’s social impact platform, will hand out the prize.
The award “uplifts Tiffany Atrium’s commitment to fostering lasting change across the jewelry and design industries,” said Alexandre Arnault, executive vice president of product, communications and industrial at Tiffany.
The selection committee includes Arnault; Frank Everett, Sotheby’s vice chairman of jewelry; actress Gabrielle Union and supermodel Joan Smalls. Tiffany will announce participants in the fall, with the award winner named in early 2025.
