Swiss Gemmological Institute Appoints New Head of Education

Julia Griffith has joined the Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF) as its head of education.

Griffith brings vast experience in gemological training, the organization said last week. She joined the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) in 2013, where she discovered her passion for lecturing about gemology, and later founded The Gem Academy to offer educational content.

In her new role, she will guide educators to support students from the beginner stage to scientific courses that work with cutting-edge instruments and analytical methods.

“My mission has been to make gemology accessible, engaging, and inspiring for everyone who shares a fascination with the natural world of gems,” said Griffith on her LinkedIn page.
