Sparkling Diamonds to Lead Bonhams Jewelry Sale

A 35-carat diamond ring by Leviev is expected to fetch up to $2.5 million at a Bonhams single-owner sale in New York next month.

The jewel is one of several diamonds, important fancy-colored gems and signed pieces set to go under the hammer on March 8, the auction house said last week.

Named “The Perfect Jewelry Box,” the auction of 120 lots from a south California owner will feature pieces from leading jewelry houses including Mauboussin, Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Chopard, Boucheron, and Van Cleef & Arpels.

The top five lots are:

An emerald-shaped, 35-carat, D-color, VVS1-clarity diamond ring by Leviev is accented by a round brilliant-cut diamond-set gallery and shank totaling 1.90 carats. Its estimate is $1.7 million to $2.5 million.
This oval-shaped, 22.10-carat, D-color, VVS2-clarity diamond, flanked by approximately 1.05 carats of bullet-shaped diamonds, has a $900,000 to $1.5 million price range.
A square emerald-cut, 11.37-carat, D-color, VVS2-clarity diamond mounted on a ring flanked by tapered baguette-cut diamonds is predicted to garner $350,000 to $550,000.
This ring features a rectangular-cut, 24.80-carat Ceylon sapphire accented by a round brilliant-cut diamond-set gallery and shank. It carries an estimate of $200,000 to $300,000.
An Art Deco gem-set diamond and enamel tassel necklace is by French jeweler Mauboussin. It’s composed of black enamel links, ruby rondelle beads and platinum budding flowers set with rubies, sapphires, emeralds and amethysts. Its estimate is $150,000 to $250,000.
