Sarine Partnership Aims to Curb Errors in Cutting

February 22, 2022  |  Rapaport News

RAPAPORT… Sarine Technologies has signed an agreement to integrate its rough-diamond planning software into an automated cutting machine, which will simplify the cutting-and-polishing process and prevent costly mistakes.

The company will link its Sarine Advisor software to Synova’s DaVinci Diamond Factory, which automates all cutting, shaping and faceting stages into one process, Sarine said Monday. Customers who use Sarine’s diamond-planning tool can choose to add Synova’s technology.

Sarine signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the technology provider, which is partly owned by De Beers, at the Dubai Diamond Conference on Monday.

“[This] will benefit our mutual customers by further streamlining the supply chain and reducing costs and costly errors,” said Sarine CEO David Block.

The DaVinci system cuts rough diamonds from 0.25 carats and up, as well as fancy shapes.
