A ruby and diamond necklace raked in $2.2 million at a recent Bonhams sale in New York.
The jewel sports an oval-shaped, 5.03-carat Burmese ruby pendant in a frame of alternating baguette and round brilliant-cut diamonds, with a graduated diamond necklace of a similar pattern. It scored over 14 times its $150,000 high price at the June 8 Exceptional Jewels auction, according to the Bonhams website.
The auction house found buyers for pieces from famous maisons such as Harry Winston, Bulgari, and Tiffany & Co. Many lots surpassed their high estimates.

Estimate: $150,000 to $250,000
An unmounted oval-shaped, 30.61-carat Mozambique Paraíba-type tourmaline, accompanied by a hexagonal frame in a link necklace. The piece made six times its high estimate.
Estimate: $350,000 to $550,000
A ring featuring a cushion-cut, 30.20-carat, fancy-intense-yellow, VS2-clarity diamond within a round brilliant-cut diamond-set mount.

A ring bearing an emerald-cut, 11.20-carat, E-color, VS1 diamond.

This Harry Winston ring centers a cushion-cut, 7.08-carat Colombian emerald between tapered baguette-cut diamonds.

A Bulgari necklace comprising oval-shaped multicolored sapphires alternating with duos of round brilliant-cut diamonds. It centers a detachable pendant featuring a pear-shaped, 24.10-carat, yellow Ceylon sapphire.
