Huw Daniel will step down as CEO of Platinum Guild International (PGI) after nine years in the position and 21 with the company.

Daniel, who first joined in 2003 as president of PGI’s US branch, will be succeeded by Tim Schlick, who currently serves as chief operating officer, PGI said Monday. Schlick started at PGI in 2015 as chief strategy officer.

Schlick plans to build on the strong foundation Daniel has already established, the incoming CEO noted.

“To me, the next logical step is to apply what we have built over the years to unlock more opportunities for the trade, and by doing so, create incremental value for both our partners and sponsors, scaling the value we create,” said Schlick.

Schlick will begin his new role on April 4.
