Pink-Diamond Ring Takes First Place at Bonhams

A fancy-vivid-pink diamond ring stole the show at the recent Bonhams jewelry sale in Hong Kong, where it brought in HKD 4.4 million ($567,724). 

The piece features a modified shield brilliant-cut, 1.08-carat, internally flawless diamond, set in a contemporary-style mount adorned with round brilliant- and tapered baguette-cut diamonds totaling 13.80 carats. It sold within its estimated range, leading the Hong Kong Jewels and Jadeite sale, according to the auction house’s website.

The Kat Florence Lumina, an unmounted cushion-shaped, 181.61-carat, bluish-green Paraiba-type tourmaline, sold for HKD 3.8 million ($486,688), within its presale price.

These Harry Winston earrings bear cushion-shaped, 6.98- and 6.96-carat Burmese rubies, each surmounted by marquise- and round brilliant-cut diamonds. It brought in HKD 3.6 million ($462,331), just missing its upper estimate.

A Cartier bracelet fetched HKD 2 million ($259,777), within its price range. Its design features two opposing panther heads that are pavé-set with 18.10 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds and 12 carats of buff-top calibrated sapphires, and includes an onyx nose and emerald eyes.

The auction house sold this ring with an oval-shaped, 15.06-carat, orange-red Tanzania spinel set between two oval diamonds weighing 0.60 and 0.66 carats. It sold for HKD 1.9 million ($243,585), near its high estimate.

This ring has a cut-cornered rectangular mixed-cut, 17.46-carat, fancy-yellow, VS2-clarity diamond, with prongs and ring shank fully pavé-set with around 2.20 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds. It beat its HKD 1.5 million ($191,428) upper price to realize HKD 1.7 million ($211,209).

A Ronald Abram ring bears an emerald-cut, 7.13-carat, F-color, VVS2-clarity diamond, flanked by trapezoid-cut shoulders weighing 0.95 carats in total. It beat its HKD 1.3 million ($165,912) high estimate, garnering HKD 1.4 million ($178,802).

Another Ronald Abram ring went for HKD 1 million ($130,180), within its estimates. This one sports a cushion-shaped, 8.08-carat, G-color, VS1-clarity diamond, flanked by shield-shaped diamond shoulders with a combined weight of 0.50 carats.

This ring features a round brilliant-cut, 5.05-carat, F-color, VVS1-clarity diamond set between trapezoid-diamond shoulders. It achieved HKD 1 million ($130,180), meeting expectations.
