Pink Diamond Nabs Supreme $11M Price at Christie’s

A ring featuring a 15.48-carat diamond, known as the Pink Supreme, was the star item at the most recent Christie’s jewelry auction in Hong Kong, fetching HKD 83.9 million ($10.8 million).

The cushion brilliant-cut, fancy-intense-pink, internally flawless diamond was one of several colored diamonds comprising the top five at the November 27 Magnificent Jewels sale. The sale price fell within the piece’s HKD 70 million to HKD 100 million ($9 million to $12.8 million) presale price range.

In total, Christie’s garnered HKD 491.4 million ($63.1 million) from the sale.

Here are the rest of the top five items:

***This ring, set with a pear modified brilliant-cut, 3.51-carat, fancy-vivid-blue, VS2-clarity diamond, surrounded by round diamonds, achieved HKD 50.2 million ($6.4 million), within estimates.***

Christie’s sold this ring, containing two blue diamonds — a 2.01-carat, fancy-vivid-blue stone and a 2-carat, fancy-intense-blue one — for HKD 36.7 million ($4.7 million). The piece, which also features a 2-carat, fancy-vivid pink and a 1.01-carat, fancy-intense-purple-pink diamond, fell within its presale price range.

A necklace with a modified pear brilliant-cut, 40.05-carat, D-color, internally flawless diamond pendant with pear and round pink diamonds and marquise and briolette-cut diamonds on the chain brought in HKD 36.1 million ($4.6 million), just below its upper estimate.

***An unmounted round-brilliant-cut, 38.88-carat, D-flawless diamond realized HKD 30.6 million ($3.9 million), in the middle of its presale price range.***
