Phillips has named Dianne Batista as its new head of jewels in New York, where she will also be senior vice president and senior specialist.

Batista brings over 40 years of experience to her new position, the company said Wednesday. She has previously worked in auction houses, including Freeman’s | Hindman and Rago/Wright, as well as in luxury retail and as a consultant.

Batista’s role will include overseeing the sourcing and evaluation of property for the auctions. In addition, she will be responsible for driving strategic long-term growth and strengthening the auction house’s presence in the Americas by deepening client relationships and market expansion.

“[Batista’s] extensive expertise…makes her uniquely positioned to lead our efforts in the Americas,” said Benoît Repellin, worldwide head of jewelry for Phillips. “In her new role, she will be instrumental in shaping our regional strategy, sourcing exceptional property, and strengthening relationships with collectors and connoisseurs. [Batista’s] appointment underscores our commitment to excellence and our ambition to further elevate Phillips’s global presence in the jewelry market.”
