RAPAPORT… Phillips has appointed Benoît Repellin head of jewelry for Europe as the company works to establish a presence in the region.
“Benoît will be joining Phillips at a time when we are expanding rapidly across the globe,” Graeme Thompson, worldwide head of jewelry for the auction house, said Thursday. “Europe remains an extremely important market for sourcing and selling jewels, and I believe Benoît has the expertise, network and creativity to help us reach the next level of development in this category.”
In his new role, Repellin — who spent the past nine years as director and head of Magnificent Jewels sales for Sotheby’s — will work to form a strong name for Phillips Jewels in Europe, the auction house noted. He will travel extensively, working closely with the teams in New York, London, Hong Kong and Geneva.
Repellin will join Phillips on February 1 and will be based in Geneva, the company added.
