Christie’s will mark its 40th anniversary in Asia with two watch auctions, each with a Patek Philippe timepiece from the Kronos: Titans of Time collection as its lead item.

A Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon watch will carry a high estimate of HKD 43 million ($5.3 million) at the November 25 Iconic 40 Watches Evening Sale, Christie’s said last week. The piece features an 18-karat white gold double dial with 12 complications, including perpetual calendar, tourbillon and sky chart phases.

The auction house will also present a rare F.P. Journe watch with a ruby dial and platinum limited edition tourbillon with dead beat seconds and power reserve. It has a price range of HKD 16 million to HKD 32 million ($2 million to $4 million). Another Patek Philippe timepiece, boasting a baguette-cut ruby-set bezel with automatic astronomical sky charts, phases and orbit of the moon, has an upper estimate of HKD 24 million ($3 million).

The Important Watches sale on November 26 will showcase the second Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon, this one with an 18-karat pink gold double dial and 12 complications, including moon age and angular motion. The piece is likely to fetch between HKD 8 million and HKD 16 million ($1 million and 2 million). An F.P Journe platinum dual time wristwatch with an upper estimate of HKD 16 million ($2 million) will also be among the top lots at the sale. Additionally, the auction house is offering a Cartier clock featuring a panther with emeralds, blue sapphires and chalcedony, grey diamonds and brilliant-cut diamonds. It has a high price of HKD 12 million ($1.5 million).

The two auctions will take place during Hong Kong Luxury week and will comprise more than 300 timepieces.

The Kronos: Titans of Time Collection is “one of the most important single-owner watch collections ever offered by Christie’s,” the auction house said.

The sales’ combined low estimate tops HKD 330 million ($42 million), which is the highest-ever seasonal total estimate for the watches category in Asia.

“The sales showcase the artistry, innovation, rarity and craftsmanship that define the pinnacle of horological collecting,” Christie’s added.
