Opsydia Hires Jimmy Gove from Bonas

Diamond and gemstone security company Opsydia has appointed former Bonas Group executive Jimmy Gove as its sales and marketing director.

Gove has more than a decade of experience in the diamond, gemstone and jewelry industries, Opsydia said last week. He was most recently London-based digital projects manager at Bonas, a major tender house for diamonds and gemstones. He previously oversaw Bonas’s digital transformation strategy as well as its tender and auction sales and analytics platform, and has acted as a De Beers broker.

Based in the UK, Opsydia produces unique identifiers that go on and beneath the surface of stones as a security feature. In 2021, it named De Beers veteran Jonathan Kendall as a nonexecutive director. In September 2022, the company secured “significant” funding to help expand the business, it said.

“Jimmy is an important addition to the Opsydia team,” said Opsydia CEO Andrew Rimmer. “His professional experience in the diamond and colored-gemstone industries, coupled with his understanding and links to the corporate jewelry businesses, is going to be invaluable as we move into this next phase of our growth and development.”
