The Ethereal Jadeite Necklace will take the spotlight at the upcoming Christie’s auction in Hong Kong, where it could rake in as much as HKD 200 million ($26 million).

The jewel comprises 61 jadeite cabochon beads, as well as yellow diamonds on the clasp. The high-quality gemstones are of vivid-green color with glassy translucency. The piece will lead the May 26 Magnificent Jewels auction, Christie’s said Wednesday.

The necklace is the most valuable jadeite jewel to come to market over the past decade and the most valuable piece offered this season.

“We are honored to present the Ethereal Jadeite Necklace, the most valuable jadeite jewel Christie’s has ever offered, as the standout highlight of this sale at a moment that marks our 40th anniversary in Asia,” said Vickie Sek, chairman of jewelry at Christie’s Asia Pacific. “Jadeite bead necklaces have long been treasured for their cultural significance and enduring appeal, and this exceptional jewel reflects not only the pinnacle of jadeite craftsmanship, but also Christie’s long‑standing commitment to connoisseurship, trust, and the stewardship of truly important works.”
