Jewelers of America (JA) has elected fine-jewelry designer Sheryl Jones to its board of directors at its most recent annual meeting in September.
Jones, based in New York City, is the president of Sheryl Jones in Rockefeller Plaza. She has more than two decades of experience in the jewelry industry, having launched her jewelry career in 2000 after a successful stint in television. Her passion for diamonds and gemstones led her to work with top diamond manufacturers, where she developed expertise in gemology and jewelry design, JA said last week.
Her work has been showcased in exhibitions, including the “Brilliant and Black” shows Sotheby’s has hosted. She holds a graduate diamonds degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and is an active member of the advisory board for the Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC).
“Sheryl Jones embodies the values and vision that align with Jewelers of America’s mission, and I look forward to collaborating closely to further strengthen our commitment to our members,” said JA CEO David Bonaparte.
Jones is joined by other board members, including Larry Bock of Bachendorf’s, Joe Corey of Day’s Jewelers, and Kim Crawford of Macy’s.
