Hearts on Fire has appointed Yunjo Lee as its chief creative officer amid efforts to elevate its position in the fine-jewelry industry.

Lee, who has over 20 years of experience in jewelry, previously worked for Tiffany & Co., developing collections together with artists including Paloma Picasso and Frank Gehry, the Chow Tai Fook-owned brand said Tuesday. Her most recent position was as director of jewelry design at Canada-based direct-to-consumer jewelry brand Mejuri, where she oversaw both women’s and men’s collections and drove collaborations.

In her new role, Lee will be responsible for leading and inspiring creative strategy and product development, as well as evolving the brand’s design, the company explained.

Hearts on Fire is transforming into a new kind of brand,” said its global president, Rita Maltez. “We are building our legacy of quality and craftsmanship, while stepping firmly into the future with modernity and openness. I am excited for what Yunjo brings…at this important junction. Her passion for her craft, strong track record and sensibility will be an asset.”

Lee will start immediately, reporting to Maltez.
