Grandview Klein Diamonds has inaugurated a new office and manufacturing facility in South Africa.
The launch took place last month in the presence of the company’s leadership and senior executives from De Beers group, it said recently. The company, a triple De Beers sightholder, aims to strengthen its long-term commitment to responsible sourcing and local beneficiation, the New York-based manufacturer continued.
The facility, spanning over 10,000 square feet and with a workforce of 50,joins the company’s additional African factories in Botswana and Namibia.
“For us, beneficiation is not a contractual obligation. It is embedded in our DNA,” said Grandview Klein CEO Moshe Klein. “Diamonds should generate opportunity, skills, and lasting economic value in the countries where they originate. Responsible sourcing must be matched by meaningful local participation.”
The manufacturing facility incorporates advanced planning systems, precision laser cutting and bruting technology, and automated polishing equipment to maximize rough yield, improve cutting accuracy, and enhance transparency and compliance throughout the manufacturing process, it added.
The development reflects the company’s commitment to supporting diamond-producing countries, it said. South Africa has long played a central role in the global diamond industry, with its manufacturing sector providing skilled jobs and technical expertise.
Amid industry uncertainty, ongoing investment signals confidence in the long-term strength of the natural diamond sector and the communities that rely on them, the company said.
