GIA to Award $2M in Scholarships in 2024

GIA Graders 1280

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is accepting applications for merit-based scholarships available to US and international students.

The scholarships can be used for GIA courses or programs from January 1 through June 30, 2024, the GIA said last week. This includes the redesigned Graduate Jeweler program in 2024. The deadline for applying is September 30. Overall, the organization will award $2 million in scholarships in 2024.

In addition, there are need-based scholarships for those who qualify. These are accessible year-round for prospective US students and require a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.

“We are committed to supporting our students and helping them achieve their dreams,” said Duncan Pay, GIA senior vice president of education and chief academic officer. “Through our scholarship programs, we are able to provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate a passion for gemology or the jewelry arts and a commitment to excellence.”

GIA has awarded more than $12 million in scholarships since 2015 for 2,500 students at GIA schools around the world and through online education programs.
