Star Diamond Corp. CEO Ewan Mason is retiring at the end of November.

Mason has been a board member for the past seven years and served as president and CEO for close to three years, the Canadian-based mining company said Monday. He became interim chief in January 2023 following predecessor Ken MacNeill’s retirement, and took on the CEO role in March 2024.

“Mason has led us through some difficult times, and we wish him well in his retirement,” said lead director Lisa Riley, adding that the board would, “in due course,” begin searching for a replacement candidate “appropriate for our development stage.”

During his career, Mason has worked as a contract geologist for several mining companies. He has also worked in the investment-banking and inventory-management fields, among others.
