An emerald and diamond necklace went on the auction block at a recent Phillips sale in New York, where it fetched $541,800, within its price range.
The jewel comprises 20 graduated step-cut Colombian emeralds, alternating with rows of brilliant-cut diamonds. It led the June 10 New York Jewels auction, Phillips said Wednesday.
The sale brought in $4.1 million, with 95% of its 113 lots selling. Pieces from well-known designers such as Harry Winston, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels also found buyers.

Estimate: $150,000 to $250,000
A ring bearing a cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut, 14.71-carat, fancy-intense-yellow, VS1-clarity diamond between two triangular-cut diamonds.
Estimate: $200,000 to $300,000
A necklace featuring a pendant with a pear-shaped, 5.86-carat Brazilian Paraiba tourmaline in a brilliant-cut diamond surround.
Estimate: $120,000 to $220,000
A ring centering a step-cut, 7.30-carat, F-color, VS1 diamond flanked by two tapered baguette diamonds.
Estimate: $120,000 to $180,000
A ring with an octagonal step-cut, 8.08-carat Colombian emerald between two calf’s head-cut diamonds.
