Neil Ventura has joined the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) as special adviser for its Precious Stones Ecosystem.
Ventura, a former De Beers and Anglo American executive, brings more than 30 years of experience in the global diamond and precious stones sector, the DMCC said Sunday in a post on X. He will work to expand the ecosystem’s reach, anchored by the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), which hosts more than 1,300 diamond companies.
In his new role, Ventura will provide strategic guidance on developments across the natural and lab-grown diamond sectors, as well as compliance and ethical sourcing. He will also support market-development efforts, enhance the platform’s global visibility and recommend strategies to drive trade growth.
During his time at De Beers, Ventura led major initiatives, including the launch of the De Beers Auction Sales platform, the Tracr blockchain program and Lightbox Jewelry. He also developed GemFair, a social impact project aimed at supporting artisanal miners.
In addition to his role at DMCC, Ventura serves as an expert adviser to the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and is involved with Antler, a global early-stage venture capital firm.
