Diamonds Do Good (DDG) has named Kathy Corey, the former owner of retailer Day’s Jewelers, as president of the leadership team for the nonprofit group’s board.
Corey, who is still on the board of the Maine- and New Hampshire-based jeweler, is set to serve a two-year term, DDG said Monday. Rounding out the executive committee are retail jewelry consultant Peter Engel, who will be president-elect, and immediate past president Anna Martin, who recently stepped down as senior vice president of institute and industry relations at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Meanwhile, David Bonaparte, CEO of Jewelers of America (JA), will become the organization’s treasurer.
DDG has also brought on five new board members. They are:
- Sarin Bachmann, group vice president of Reed Exhibitions Jewelry Group.
- Allison Katz, president of Krupp Group PR.
- Lola Oladunjoye, designer at jewelry brand Lola Fenhirst.
- Pritesh Patel, senior vice president and chief operating officer at the GIA.
- Constance Polamalu, chief operating officer at Zachary’s Jewelers.
“We are pleased to welcome these new board members,” said Corey. “They share a passion for the mission of Diamonds Do Good and a commitment to its growth in the years ahead.”
