The Diamond Council of America (DCA) has elected four new directors to its board.

The appointees took office January 1 and will serve a two-year term, the organization said Wednesday.

The DCA tapped Bobbi Avery, vice president of human resources at Day’s Jewelers, and Jeffery Bolling, the founder of Jeffery B. Jewelers in Denver, Colorado — the state’s first African American-owned fine-jewelry store — and a board member of the Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC).

The other new directors are Britney Phillips, jewelry training developer and senior trainer at Fred Meyer Jewelers, and Lindsay Salvo, who drives strategic transformation efforts to accelerate growth across Signet’s North America portfolio, with a recent focus on Kay Jewelers and Peoples Jewelers in the US and Canada.

“We are thrilled to welcome Avery, Bolling, Phillips and Salvo as new DCA board directors,” said DCA CEO Annie Doresca. “Their knowledge, expertise and passion for DCA and the retail jewelry industry will help us as we modernize and create a larger impact for jewelry sales education.”

The returning board members are Jennifer Hammond, chair; Chuck Kuba, immediate past chair; David Bonaparte, vice chair; Julie Keeney, treasurer; Joe Corey; Mike Blank; and Steve Velasquez. Meanwhile, Bud Fluty stepped down after 21 years.

The DCA is a charitable, nonprofit organization that provides distance education for professional certification in diamonds, colored gemstones, and fine-jewelry sales.
