Jewelers of America (JA) chief financial and operating officer Annie Doresca will succeed Terry Chandler as CEO of the Diamond Council of America (DCA).

Doresca, who will take the helm on January 1, currently serves as executive vice president of DCA. The board selected her based on her leadership skills, business acumen and passion for the growth of DCA, the organization said Tuesday. Doresca will also continue in her role at JA.

In addition to her position at JA, which she has held since 2008, Doresca is the founding president of the Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC). She is dedicated to diversity and inclusion in the jewelry industry.

“I am grateful to Terry Chandler and the DCA board for trusting in my vision for the future of DCA,” said Doresca. “I have been honored to work closely with Terry for so many years, particularly since our organizations became affiliated, and I have learned so much about this important part of the jewelry business. I am confident that my background will support a seamless transition as we focus on helping more jewelry businesses provide valuable jewelry education to make their operations more profitable.”

Doresca is also a member of several boards, including the Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC), Jewelers’ Security Alliance (JSA), Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT), and the Women’s Jewelry Association Foundation.

“The future of the DCA is going to be shining brightly with Annie Doresca at the helm,” said Chandler. “She has already played a critical role in the transition, and I can’t wait to witness what she will be able to achieve and how many careers will be enhanced because of her leadership.”
