Dazzling Diamond Pieces to Lead Bonhams Auction

Bonhams 6.09-carat diamond ring

Diamond pieces are set to comprise the top five items at the upcoming California Jewels auction at Bonhams.

A 6.09-carat diamond ring from the estate of philanthropist Peggy Koerner Cravens will lead the February 22 sale. The proceeds from the jewel will benefit charities supporting arts and education in Southern California, Bonhams said last week. The ring is one of 20 lots from that collection.

The top five jewels at the auction are:

A marquise-shaped, 6.09-carat, E-color, VVS2-clarity diamond ring with diamond accents totaling approximately 4.30 carats is estimated at $140,000 to $200,000.
This line necklace has alternating round and baguette diamonds weighing a combined 12.60 carats, and a round, 4.05-carat, G-color, VVS2-clarity center stone. It is expected to fetch $100,000 to $120,000.
This platinum and diamond dress clip was created by Cartier in Paris in 1929. The piece features a shield-shaped, 2.05-carat diamond surrounded by fancy-shaped baguette, round and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 8.30 carats. It is estimated at $75,000 to $100,000.
A ring bearing an emerald-cut, 5.82-carat, I-color, SI1-clarity diamond has a price tag of $50,000 to $70,000.
Bonhams will sell this necklace featuring graduated baguette diamonds weighing approximately 44.95-carats in total for between $50,000 and $70,000.
