Colorful diamonds and gemstones will star at the upcoming Important Jewels auction at Sotheby’s, with a jadeite, diamond and ruby necklace set to be the top item.
The piece, which contains 46 beads, features a clasp decorated with rose- and brilliant-cut diamonds and calibré-cut rubies. It will carry a high estimate of HKD 18 million ($2.3 million) at the July 12 sale in Hong Kong.
The auction house will also offer jewels by well-known designers, including Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, Boucheron, and Van Cleef & Arpels.

This necklace has 65 circular-cut Burmese rubies weighing approximately 53.80 carats. Of those, nearly half the gems are considered pigeon’s blood.
