A 10.02-carat Tiffany & Co. diamond ring was the top seller at a recent online jewelry sale at Christie’s, pulling in $520,700.
The emerald-cut, D-color, internally flawless, type IIa diamond ring priced within its estimated range at the Jewels Online auction, which closed on March 19, Christie’s said last week. It led the sale to a total of $8.5 million, with global participation, including from the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Many pieces from the sale far exceeded their high estimates, including a Cartier carved emerald and diamond ring, which garnered $120,650, more than four times its upper price, and a sapphire and diamond ring that nearly quadrupled its top sticker. The auction also featured pieces from the collection of Elizabeth Taylor, including a set of spinel, ruby, diamond and gold jewelry, which sold for $107,950 against a $20,000 high estimate.
Here are the rest of the top five pieces:

Estimate: $250,000 to $350,000
A round brilliant-cut, 10.03-carat, D, VS1-clarity diamond ring has approximately 98 round diamonds totaling between 0.90 and 1 carat on the band.

Estimate: $300,000 to $500,000
This pair of stud earrings features round-brilliant cut diamonds weighing 5.13 and 5.04 carats, both D and VVS2.

Estimate: $300,000 to $500,000
This ring bears a marquise brilliant-cut, 8.85-carat, D, internally flawless diamond solitaire.

Estimate: $60,000 to $80,000
Nearly quadrupling its high estimate was this ring containing a cushion mixed-cut, 3.76-carat Kashmir sapphire with bullet-shaped diamond shoulders from the estate of Suzanne Valenstein, an art historian and research curator for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
