The top three lots on offer at an upcoming jewelry auction at Christie’s in Geneva feature blue diamonds, with the lead piece expected to bring in up to CHF 6.5 million ($7.9 million).
The ring, a Boucheron creation, contains an emerald-cut, 6.24-carat, fancy-deep-blue, VVS2-clarity diamond center stone with round rubies and baguette-cut white diamonds. It will be the highlight of the May 14 Magnificent Jewels sale, according to Christie’s.
Another blue diamond was originally set to headline in Geneva. The consignor pulled the pear-shaped, 23.24-carat, fancy-vivid-blue Golconda Blue diamond ring from designer JAR, which was expected to bring in up to $50 million, from the sale last week.
The sale will include a 21-piece collection by JAR slated to bring in more than $3 million, as well as a bevy of blue diamonds. It will also feature pieces from well-known design houses, including Graff, Reza, Bulgari and Harry Winston.
