A ruby, emerald and diamond tassel necklace by Van Cleef & Arpels was the top seller for Christie’s at its latest jewelry auction in London, more than doubling its high estimate.

The piece, which was made in the 1970s and has a detachable center that can be worn as a brooch, fetched GBP 529,200 ($619,164) against an upper price tag of GBP 250,000 ($295,000), Christie’s said Friday.

In total, the November 25 auction, named Jewels Online: The London Edit, garnered GBP 6.1 million ($7.1 million).

A square step-cut, 11.29-carat, F-color, VS1-clarity diamond ring by Graff went for GBP 504,400 ($589,680), exceeding its GBP 400,000 ($472,000) high estimate. Meanwhile, an additional jewel by Graff, a cushion modified brilliant-cut, 7.16-carat, fancy-vivid-yellow diamond ring flanked by trilliant diamonds also performed well. The gem sold for GBP 327,600 ($396,400), beating its GBP 300,000 ($354,000) upper price. Another notable item was a bracelet by Garrard & Co. set with five sapphires ranging from 8.03 to 22.10 carats and old-cut diamonds, which brought in GBP 327,600, smashing its GBP 200,000 ($236,000) high estimate.

The auction followed the November 22 sale of jewels from the collection of Lord and Lady Weinstock, which achieved a total of GBP 777,420 ($918,910). That sale, also held in London, included a diamond necklace that fetched GBP 352,800 ($417,010), nearly four times its upper price tag, and a 19th-century diamond tiara that went for GBP 132,300 ($156,379) against a high estimate of GBP 80,000 ($94,400).
